2013 Urbana Arts Grants Program



The City of Urbana, IL Public Arts Commission announces the opening of the 2013 cycle of its Urbana Arts Grants Program to support projects in the arts. The Urbana Arts Grants Program makes funding available to artists, arts organizations, and festivals for projects that enrich the lives of Urbana residents and visitors. Eligible disciplines include visual arts, music, performing arts, literary arts, design, multidisciplinary arts, and new media. Recipients of Urbana Arts Grants from subsequent previous cycles are also eligible. Grants will be available in four categories listed below:
• Here and Now: grants for artists residing in Urbana, IL
• Envision 365: grants for all emerging and professional artists
• Creative Mix: arts grants for groups, ensembles, and organizations
• Festivals Grant: grants for arts-related festival presenters
All application materials are due by 5:00 P.M. on January 16, 2013. For the first time, applicants may apply online at https://urbana.myreviewroom.com/ for Urbana Arts Grants. Interested applicants should review the 2013 Program Guidelines, 2013 Grant Application, TIF Districts, and Urbana Arts Grants Funded Projects 2009-2012. CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS CYCLES FOR 2013 URBANA ARTS GRANTS
Online Application Option
For the 2013 cycle of the Urbana Arts Grants Program, applications will be accepted online OR as hard copies. To access the online application, please visit https://urbana.myreviewroom.com. You will be able to fill out the application form and upload your additional materials and work samples through this system. Online applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM CST on January 16, 2013. Hard Copy Option
If you are not able to complete the application online, you may submit a hard copy. Return one hard copy of the application form and one hard copy each of the required additional materials for the category for which you are applying, as well as a CD or DVD of work samples, to the Public Arts Coordinator, Community Development Services, City of Urbana, 400 S Vine Street, Urbana, IL 61801. For your hard copy application to be accepted you must submit it in a manila envelope that is clearly labeled with your contact information. No hard copy applications will be accepted after 5:00 PM on January 16, 2013.
2013 Eligibility
Previous recipients of Urbana Arts Grants for two consecutive years ARE eligible to apply for the 2013 cycle of Urbana Arts Grants. However, due to limited funding, continuous funding of ongoing projects is not guaranteed. Grant applications requesting funding for new projects or new additions to ongoing projects may be given priority.
