Con Edison Musicians’ Residency: Composition Program

2013-14 Con Edison Musicians’ Residency: Composition Program
Exploring the Metropolis (EtM) is happy to announce the fifth round of the Con Edison Musicians’ Residency: Composition Program for 2013-14. The residency provides free space in cultural and community facilities for composition work.
This year, we will select eight NYC-based composers for residence in four facilities. Composers receive three months of free workspace and a $1,000 stipend. All composers must complete one public program in cooperation with the host facility.
This year’s four host facilities will be:
1.) Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy, Brooklyn
2.) Bloomingdale School for Music, Manhattan
3.) Turtle Bay Music School, Manhattan
4.) Flushing Town Hall, Queens
The application deadline is June 3, 2013. This is an in-hand, not postmark, deadline. Please read the guidelines thoroughly before submitting.
Stemming from our 2008 study, “Where Can We Work?”, the Con Edison Musicians’ Residency: Composition Program has been operating since 2009.
