Residency at 1646 | The Hague – The Netherlands

The residency offers artists and curators the possibility to stay and work/research at our location in the centre of The Hague. The residency period has a maximum length of two months and is an opportunity to research not focused on a final product or exhibition.

Studio space of 5m x 4m inside our venue. The studio is provided of a wi-fi internet connection and residents have access to our technical facilities: building tools, HDV video camera, DVD players, beamers …
Accommodation: a studio apartment nearby the gallery with private cooking facilities, internet and shared toilet and shower

Working budget of up to a maximum of 1000 euros. Please note that a final decision on the working budget will be made on the basis of the project proposal and that living and travelling expenses need to be covered by residents

1646 is a project-space for contemporary art. A dedicated space for experimental art practices and ideas, 1646 is a platform for new productions and presentations with special emphasis on encouraging artists to realise new projects on location.

Next to a year-long program of exhibitions, 1646 hosts artists talks, video screenings and lectures and runs a short-term residency for foreign artists and curators.
